Amazing effect but can you please create an alpha channel for it. Without alpha we cannot export transparent renders. How about pre-compose the layer and then make blending mode to "screen"? Sir, i am unable to download the plugin how to create a cinematic video, Thanks for your hard and superb knowledge. No 32 bit version? Can someone please tell me where's the 32 bit version? Actually this plug in works only on 64 bit system.
Matthew Abaya. Wow this would be great to use but like a few others on older operating systems, its doesn't seem to open on Mac Just wanted to say a big thank you for creating and giving away this plug-in for free.
You released it just in time for me to finish my Star Wars Alphabet animation in time for May 4th! I'm working with Mousetrappe on a high profile project that uses Saber. We have found that rendering in After Effects Is anyone else seeing this? When we run the job on render nodes with Windows 10 it seems to work fine. Hi could you please add a feature to give the core a center size? It has start and end size but when I put both to zero the saber disappears. It would be really good for planets, I've been using saber to make some great looking planets but to feather off the atmosphere on the dark side I've been using a linear wipe.
It does the trick but it looks way better fading the edges with a 0 start and end size. For the moment I've been working around it by using two saber layers. I think a center width property which should probably be an optional setting would fix that because there would only be one glow spanning the width of the saber.
If you could please add that to the next version of saber that would be amazing : Love you guys!!! Is there a way to simply freeze the effect for bullet time? Wait, you worked on the titles for The Force Awakens? Does that include the crawl? Because the timing was a little off on the crawl. There's a particular note that it should appear on.
Hi All, im somewhat of a novice so hopefully this is an easy question: ive downloaded and installed the file, but when i go to open "Saber" AEX File it opens Ae but says the following: After Effects error: Cant import file "Saber. Great plug-in! It's very much a huge game changer for all of us in VFX. I noticed that it can primarily take advantage of an AfterEffects layer's alpha channel i. Thank much, and sorry for some mistakes on grammar but English, isn't my native language is Portuguese. Kyle Head. Love this plug-in! I used it with some drone footage I shot to make this wormhole portal. Kevin Sancen. Hey guys. Hope you like my Saber test!
Thanks :. Nice glow feature! Is there any plan of adding mask opacity support so the sabers will disappear when the mask disappears? No freaking way First for the wonderful Lightsaber effect, and also for all the wonderful tutorials and products. You have been an inspiration to me as well as a mentor.
Thanks again, James. Thank you so much Andrew. Sriman Biswajit. God bless you dear.. Chandan Dutta. Joey Danger. Lynn Rainwater. Thank you so much Andrew! After effects crash when I apply Saber Plugin to a text Don't apply it directly to the text layer. Could you tell us how you did the little smoke around the title in the Saber trailer? This is awesome!
Just what I was looking for! Love the plug-in and your tutorials, but I'm having a strange issue. After I export my movie, the section containing any "Saber" effects renders out as a solid white screen. After the section passes by, the movie resumes as normal. Imagine the timeline as: seconds in looks great , seconds in with saber effects blank screen , seconds looks great again.
Any idea on why plugin is rendering out funky? I can't seem to find any answers anywhere. Update: I rebooted the machine entirely and suddenly everything is hunky-dory. Feel free to disregard my post. This plugin is awesome :D. Amazing plugin! Is there a way to get the effect similar to with a ring of fire but have it rotated laying on a ground plane so that the flames are rising up from the ground plane? This Plug-In can use anywhere freely? Even a commercial use?
Even though it's true, I can't believe it It's true? You are sent from the heavens!!! This is absolutely incredible! You and the team are beyond generous! Thank you so much!! I see limitless possibilities for this amazing FREE plugin.

You are amazing person and I don't even know how to express my appreciation. Mark Jones. Im having a small issue that I cant figure out. I have been unable to apple a mask to the saber layers. What am I doing wrong? An excellent plugin for free? Thanks Andrew! Still a Great tutorial! Todd McMiniment. Anybody having horizontal line issue? They are appearing for a frame or two or three in varying degrees of thickness and duration.
Pretty sure it's a bug but any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Actually trying to use this on a quick production shot I'm doing. May have to ditch it though.
Ooops, posted the same one twice. Damian Alpizar. I was able to take my 20 something layers and reduce them to just a few. Even used it to make molten metal edges. Wow, free plugin?
Are you that awesome? Of course you are, your personality and kindness knows no boundries I need Saber Plugin for 32 bit. I want to find it, please!

I hope you have many more years of success as you deserve it. Okay, I've used the installer, and I've tried installing the plugin many times, but it doesn't work, it just won't appear in after effects.
Valentino Kemper. Than restart AE and enjoy! I tried to install this plug-in but I get a message stating version not compatible with my version of windows Win7 Ultimate bit. I'm guessing this download is 64 bit. Is there a bit version? Oh, my AE is CS4. Muchas gracias. Amaizing man u r awsome man this plugin made my life easy RW Digital. Damn, Sam still doing his stuff LOL! Is there anyway to make the distortion repeatable? You must have used fractal noise which has evolutions but 3 days I've been working with it now and I'm not sure I found a way to make it loopable.

Does anyone know where I can find those portals or energy sources that he has under the circle mask, the object comes into play around 6 minutes into the tutorial.

I'm having this problem too. I'm on a mac running OSX Guys, I double click the. Has anyone had this problem? It's "Support Files" that's important. Aaron Wong. Can someone tell me how can I add saber to a 3d model in element and have it stick to it? You will need to somehow get a Mask from it. Use the Pen Tool and trace out your model. The lead female character always had depth, and showed affection right away for this dork. His friends were fun to watch. True in ten years, this movie will be dated, but the performances will stand out to me much more than anything in the original. I give this movie 7 out of Not Bad by kicked25th i go see movies every weekend.
I wasn't suppose to go till tomorrow, but i caught a 10 o'clock showing of this movie and other then the very one-sided audience, i was genuinely impressed. Now even though this story has been done a million times, Nick Cannon managed to bring a 21st century "beat" to it, that made me laugh on and on. Now while half the movie i had my head in my hands, thanking God i wasn't in that situation, i still rate this movie among the 4th Quarter's best.
My daughter made me see it twice, and it just got better! It took me back to my high school years- where I was definitely an Alvin. The funny thing is; I cannot pinpoint what makes this movie work for me. Maybe it was the underdog Alvin, maybe it was the lovely 'prom queen'. Perhaps everything mixed with Steve Harvey who I usually don't find funny makes this boat float.
Oh, and Richard Gibbs, is it? I loved his score also. In other words; it can't sell. Well, he was proven wrong. You struck gold with this one, and I don't know how your'e going to top it.
Keep it up- in spite of the haters and naysayers. A pleasant, nice and easy teen romantic comedy by airviun The nerdy guy who is smart, intelligent, assiduous but unpopular in high school once gets the chance to become popular and stylish. The most popular and charming girl helps him to make his dream come true when they start dating.
In exchange he helps her to repair her car after accident. Step by step with every new day he is getting more attention and respect from his classmates, but when the deal between this outsider and the most beautiful girl is over he becomes arrogant and ungrateful.
Very soon he loses all and understands that love and sincerity is much more valuable than popularity. Overall this film has nice cast and characters, decent story, some hilarious moments and some meaning. For those who's in the mood to watch something pleasant, funny, relax and get positive emotions it's a great choice!
A remake, but with some distinctive features by groktalo 'Love don't cost a thing' is a remake of 'Can't buy me love' Clearly, there are lots of similarities between the two and one might question the value of viewing the remake, having seen the original. However, there are two aspects of the remake that, in my opinion, are not as clearly emphasised in the original: father-son relationship and the importance of being open to unexpected, life-changing opportunities.
Alvin, the lead character, is a high-school student, exceptionally talented in mechanical engineering and extremely hard-working. His father acknowledges the issue and actively encourages Alvin to improve his work-life balance. Unfortunately, the dad's motives are not entirely based on what is good for his son.
Rather, the father actually wants to become a more influential person in Alvin's life. In fact, the father goes so far that he even tries to distance Alvin from his "nerdy" friends, who might indeed be "nerdy", but are at least genuine friends. Eventually, the dad realises that he has been pushing Alvin along the road of self-destruction and rights his wrongs by providing the kind of help and support that Alvin really needs. But here I am again, still thinking about that film and wondering if it will help to watch it again. It actually makes me feel ill to think of watching it again. What the earlier commenters said, for the most part.
One technical point is that this is an old print in which most of the cyan and yellow have faded, leaving mostly magenta. I remember that when I first saw it, the bodies were lying on green grass or, it now seems, in water in which the surrounding greenery was reflected , and their skin looked yellowish, contrasting vividly with the crimson blood.
Nor do I remember the stream being particularly red. The color shift in this print led one reviewer below, eight years ago or so, to conclude incorrectly that the shoe was floating on a river of blood. At least it appears that the girls were not raped. I'd hate to live in that world. Reviewer: ra. My elementary school showed this video yearly. I attended I can't really say that it traumatized me, but it did stick with me! I certainly never forgot it. The highlights for me when I began looking for this video online after describing it to a friend were the hopscotch and the song at the beginning, the girls getting into the car, the one girl wearing a romper, the girls running in the woods, and of course, the shoe floating in the creek at the very end with the song being sung!
I never realized it was based on a true story until I read these reviews. Fortunately, I had forgotten the graphic photos of the girls at the end, but I never forgot that damn shoe! I have a daughter in elementary school now and I wonder what the reaction would be like if a video like this were to be shown in school these days? Can you imagine? I'm glad this video is out there and that I found it because otherwise, I don't think anyone would've ever believed me! I started a thread where a lot of my friends from elementary school commented and validated seeing this video every year and how it affected them.
One of my former teachers commented as well and said that she never thought it was appropriate. All I know is that I sure as hell never went with a stranger after seeing this and it was one time when a strange car pulled up next to me when I was about 11 and the man reached over to roll his window down, probably to ask me something inappropriate , and I took off running like a bat out of hell! The murdered girls went to my school but were 1 grade behind me. When this film was released, our school sent home a permission slip and not only did parents have to sign the slip for us to be allowed to watch it, the parents were invited, and in fact, encouraged to come and view the clip with their child.
My Grandmother came with me and if I'm not totally mistaken, it was shown in the evening, not during the school day. I vaguely remember Mr. Butler that's what I called him but he was at that time a Captain, later the Chief of Police, talking to us kids in the neighborhood. My grandparents rented the upstairs apartment in his house so I knew him pretty well.
I just thought that you all should know that this was a shock to the entire community And parents WERE included. Reviewer: Nmangamer1 - favorite favorite favorite - June 13, Subject: Damn terrifying if you're a kid in the 60s This short child safety program was released in and does not do it's objective well.
It less educates children and more terrifies them, the ending scene shows what could happen, even though it is rare. Most molestations are done by relatives or people the child knows, not strangers. Also every molester is shown to be a middle aged man, even though women, teenagers and even children have molested. This film was made primarily to sell based on fear of parents and schools, and it succeeded on that level, but not on an educational level.
This film however should not be shown to children, it works more on fear and it's better just to educate children yourself. Ultimately this film is interesting for the controversial and "historical" context it has, one watch should suffice, but don't take it seriously. That's right - my dad played the part of the child molester in this creepy piece of shock-ucational cinematography. Out of curiosity and boredom, my dad did a Google search for the film last year and was surprised when he found it on this website.
I guess he was friends with somebody associated with the Highway Safety Foundation, and the person asked him if he wanted to be in the film. He did a couple of other films, as well. He was 21 years old at the time. He's now 70 and still living in the Mansfield, OH area, where the filming took place and the real-life murders portrayed in the movie happened. What's impressive is that this ridiculously inappropriate film really had some legs and was apparently permitted to petrify kids for a couple generations.
When I told my wife about my dad's starring role in the movie, she told me that she saw it in Safety Town in Mansfield when she was five years old, and she's only 34 years old now. So that's 20 years of psychological trauma it inflicted. For his part, my dad's sorry for the nightmares he caused. Also, in case it comes up in a trivia game sometime, my dad is also the guy walking out of the house at in the film.
Maybe seeing the child molester's real face will allow some psychological healing for all of you who were subjected to this disturbing film when you were kids.
Traumatizedsince, I'm right there with you. I can't believe this filmstrip was actually shown to children in schools back in the 's. I remember seeing this film when I was in second grade, during the school year.
The graphic images of the dead girls were emblazoned into my psyche. As a grownup and an educator, it's clear the film was intended as an educational tool for parents I suppose administrators felt the benefit outweighed any emotional damage.
Well, let's face it, emotional damage was probably a non-consideration back then. I remember several classmates dissolving into uncontrollable sobs when the graphic images at the end were shown.
The message was so indelible, I have carried it with me for forty-three years, and when the thought crossed my mind the other evening, I decided to try and Google the topic. Much to my surprise, here the video is. As I began watching, the whole experience came back to me I could feel my heart rate increasing and the same fear response I had had so many years ago, especially once the creepy music began.
I don't know The message kept me from ever going anywhere with a stranger. Louis to the suburbs. There was a mailbox on the corner a block away from my house. One day while on my way home from school, a man pulled over to the curb and began getting out of his car.

I saw this when I was 5 The scenes from the end were rather traumatizing at the time and are indelibly burned into my memory.
Never forgot it, but looking back, it was so disturbing that I convinced myself I must have dreamed it. I mean really Imagine being 5 and watching this on a large screen, in vivid color, in a small classroom. This is seriously messed up.
